10 Activities To Do When Feeling Tired

Feeling tired can be frustrating for anyone, but it can also signify that something else is happening in your life. Web MD has an article on how to get your energy levels back up again.

When you’re feeling low on energy, there are many things that you can do to feel better. Here are ten ideas for staying active while recovering from feeling fatigued.

1. Take a Walk Around the Block

If you feel exhausted, try taking a walk outside. It will help clear your head and allow you to relax. You might even find that you start feeling more energetic after just a few minutes. Walking slowly around the block or down the road a bit can be the low-energy physical activity you need to help clear the air and your head.

2. Read a Book

Reading is one of the easiest ways to improve mood and boost brain power. There are so many books out there that you can choose from. Choose something lighthearted or something that will challenge you intellectually.

Reading a book can also help you stimulate your brain and use energy without exhaustion.  It can be used for fun or informational purposes.

3. Work on Your Pinterest Boards

If you’re feeling low, try taking some time to work on your Pinterest board. You can use Pinterest as a creative outlet by pinning inspiring images. It also helps to clear your mind when you’re overwhelmed with tasks at home or work.

4. Do Physical Activities in Bite-Sized Chunks

Exercise is one of the easiest ways to improve your mood. Research shows that exercise improves both your physical and emotional well-being. As mentioned above, walking is a great, low-energy physical activity.

Another way to get physical with very little energy is to set a time for one-minute chunks and choose your favorite physical activity.  After that one minute is over, take a rest.  You can repeat this pattern as often as your body feels it can perform.

5. Meditate

Meditation has been shown to help with everything from improving concentration to reducing stress. It also helps you relax and feel calmer. If you’re new to meditation, start by focusing on your breathing. Take deep breaths through your nose while counting slowly to four. Then close your eyes and focus on your breath as it enters and leaves your nostrils. You can do this anywhere — even when you’re driving or walking.

6. Play Online Brain Games

If you’re feeling tired, try playing online brain games. They’ll keep your mind active while allowing you to relax. You can play these games at home or even on your phone.

7. Write In A Journal

Try writing down what’s going through your head. It might seem silly, but journaling has improved mood and reduced stress. Writing helps you process thoughts and feelings, so you can learn how to deal with them better.

8. Binge Watch TV Series

If you’re feeling tired, try watching some television. Watching shows while lying in bed can help you relax and unwind. You’ll also think less about work and other responsibilities, making you feel refreshed.

9. Drawing Out Your Thoughts

The hidden artist in you is waiting to come out. Why not express your thoughts visually? You know that saying that “A picture is worth a 1000 words”? It’s true. Sometimes an image can express emotions that takes so many words to express. Explore with different colors and either sketch or paint your feelings.

10. Knitting Something Cool

While you are binge watching your favorite shows, why not get something accomplished like crocheting or knitting a scarf or sweater. Knitting has become so popular again and many people find it soothing. Knitting can help with anxiety and depression. It also helps to build confidence. Nothing is more satisfying than looking at something tangeable that you made from scratch.
